China blocked access to torrent sites for sometime?
TorrentFreak is reporting that China blocked local traffic to torrent sites in the country.
The users trying to visit the BitTorrent sites were redirected to a popular search engine Baidu.com.
Some of the sites which were affected include: VeryCD, Mininova, isoHunt and The Pirate Bay.
The problem seems to be fixed now.
This is nothing new for the internet regulators in the country. A lot of similar instances have been noticed in the past.
Wikipedia and YouTube are two popular online destinations which face similar problems regularly.
