MP3 player headphones interfere with pacemakers
U.S. Researchers have found out that the headphones which are used with portable media players can interfere with the heart pacemakers and implantable defibrillators.
The portable media players themselves are no problems for the people who have these implanted in their bodies.
But the headphones which are used with these players have magnets which poses problems.
Another study has found that the Bluetooth technology based headphones are relatively safer for these people.
Dr. William Maisel spoke about their research: “The main message here is: it’s fine for patients to use their headphones normally, meaning they can listen to music and keep the headphones in their ears. But what they should not do is put the headphones near their device.”
