Dell might not launch the planned media player before the holiday season

Market sources say that Dell has reportedly decided against launching their planned portable media player before the upcoming holiday season.

The product was being aimed at the Apple iPod media player which is the market leader.

The company has been testing prototypes of this player which is based on the entertainment software from Zing Systems.

Dell never revealed much on this rumored product though they did say that such a product was being considered by the company.

The company has been focusing on their core PC market where they lost the number one position to Hewlett Packard.
