Naoko Yamazaki selected for 2010 space flight by JAXA
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency has selected a woman for the upcoming space shuttle Atlantis mission in 2010.
Naoko Yamazaki would become the first mother from Japan to go on a space mission.
She would represent Japan on the crew which is scheduled to go to space on the Atlantis in 2010.
She would become the second Japanese woman to go to space after Chiaki Mukai.
Overall, she would be Japan’s eighth astronaut in space.
