Microsoft nearing mobile deal with Verizon Wireless
Wall Street Journal has reported that Microsoft is close to signing a deal with Verizon Wireless.
The deal would see Microsoft providing the search services on mobile sold in the market by Verizon.
The two companies would share the revenues generated through advertising on the mobile search services.
Sources say that the deal would guarantee revenues of approximately 550 million dollars to 650 million dollars over five years for Verizon.
This is said to be twice the amount offered by Google for a similar deal.
Google might have lost this deal but they are working on the bigger picture. The company has just launched the first mobile phone powered by their Android mobile platform which comes bundled with Google powered services.
