Microsoft: Live Cashback program a success
Microsoft might not be closing in on Google in terms of search engine market share but the company claims that their Live Cashback program has been a success.
Microsoft said that the Cashback scheme is attracting new web users to their search services which is the aim of the program.
However, market analysts believe that this is not going to benefit the company in the long run as the web users are unlikely to stick to the service for their search needs.
Microsoft’s market share in the product search segment has touched around 12.9 percent. This is better than the company’s overall share in the search engine market which is largely dominated by Google.
Frederick Savoye, a senior director of product management for Live Search admitted: “We still have work to do, but we’re very, very focused here.”
