Intel Core i7 powered computers now on sale

PC manufacturers in the US market have started offering their new products based on the recently launched Intel Core i7 processor range.

These processors are the latest and the fastest from the company and they do not come cheap.

The Intel Core i7 2.66 GHz 920 processor costs around USD 285.

Gateway, Dell and Alienware have launched some high profile desktop computers powered by this processor.

Gateway FX6800-01e from Gateway. It comes with a 750 GB HDD, 3 GB of memory in addition to an ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, a DVD burner and Windows Vista Premium 64-bit Processor: Intel Core i7 2.66 GHz 920. Another version is available with a Intel Core i7 2.93 GHz 940 CPU.

Dell Studio XPS with this new processor has been priced at around USD 1500. They have also launched a gaming desktop XPS 730 which is much more expensive at around USD 2600.
