Google to index Life magazine’s photo archives

Search engine giant Google has announced that they are collaborating with Life magazine.

The company is going to index and archive as many as 10 million images and photos from the Life Magazine’s history.

This would include the images which were never published in the print media.

The company said that these images would be made available through their Google Image Search service.

Google said in a statement on this deal: “This effort to bring offline images online was inspired by our mission to organize all the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. We’re digitizing them so that everyone can easily experience these fascinating moments in time.”

Google added that just around 20% of Life’s archives are currently accessible online.
