NTT DoCoMo to launch a Google phone next year
NTT DoCoMo has announced that they plan to launch a new mobile phone next year that would be developed in collaboration with Google.
A company representative said: “As we are allied with Google, we are considering a commercial mobile device together.”
This phone is going to be powered by the Google Android mobile platform. It could become a rival to the Apple iPhone in the Japanese market.
Softbank Mobile has been offering the Apple iPhone since quiet sometime in this highly competitive market.
NTT DoCoMo collaborated with Google earlier this year. The collaboration was to add Google powered services to NTT’s “i-mode” Internet service.
