Nokia leaving Japanese mobile phone market
Nokia might be the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer but they have a limited presence in Japan.
The company is now pulling out of Japan where they supply mobile phones to NTT DoCoMo and Softbank Mobile.
Nokia had re-entered this highly competitive market some years ago but they seems to have failed in their attempt once again.
The company said: “We’ve not reached our own internal targets over a sustained period.”
Nokia however plans to continue their research and development work in this market.
They are however keeping their Vertu brand intact in Japan. Vertu is Nokia’s ultra high range of mobile devices which have a limited audience.
