Times Online: Yahoo and Microsoft closing in on a deal
Times Online has reported that Yahoo and Microsoft are closing in on a deal worth around USD 20 billion.
The deal could see Microsoft acquiring Yahoo’s online search business.
It would also see Microsoft supporting a new management team at the head of Yahoo.
This new team could include Jonathan Miller and Ross Levinsohn.
Miller has previously worked at AOL. Levinsohn was with Fox Interactive Media.
The possibility of such a deal widened after Jerry Yang announced his decision to leave the position of CEO of Yahoo. He was the person responsible for the rejection of the original Microsoft offer.
Microsoft has been pretty vocal in clarifying that they had no interest in acquiring Yahoo as a whole company. Though they still seems to be interested in the search engine business.
