Blockbuster launches MediaPoint set top box to compete with Netflix services
Blockbuster has launched their latest set top box named MediaPoint.
Blockbuster MediaPoint is aimed at the recently launched services by rival Netflix.
This device is capable of delivering movies to TVs over the Internet.
Customers would get access to thousands of movies without paying a monthly subscription fee.
They would be required to pay a one time fee of USD 99. This comes with a 25 movie pack.
They can then pay between $1.99 and $3.99 for each DVD rented without any monthly fee.
The box downloads the movie before playing so the quality is better compared to the streaming solution provided by Netflix.
It has a capacity to store around five movies at any given time.
