CBS to run Yahoo LAUNCHcast service
Yahoo is collaborating with the media company CBS.
CBS would now be running Yahoo LAUNCHcast service that streams online radio.
The two companies said that LAUNCHcast Radio stations would be merged with CBS Radio stations early next year.
All of these stations would then be offered through a custom player available on the Yahoo website.
CBS would be responsible for providing the broadcast content and advertising. Yahoo would be picking the playlists which would run on the service.
Yahoo Sports and Entertainment vice president Jimmy Pitaro spoke about this deal with CBS: “Our agreement with CBS Radio will deliver Internet radio’s most comprehensive and diverse collection of music, news and sports programming to Yahoo’s massive audience.”
