Yahoo India working on technology to improve search result details
Yahoo has said that their Indian development center is working on technologies that would improve the details provided with links on search result pages.
The technology would help the user as they would get better summaries of the search result pages.
Rajeev Rastogi, vice president of Yahoo Labs Bangalore said in a statement: When you type in a search today, you get a list of URLs, and they are not very informative.”
He spoke about the technologies they are working on: “This will be much more informative for an user, and will offer him a much richer web experience”
They are aiming to incorporate this technology on the Yahoo Search sometime next year.
It remains to be seen if this would help Yahoo increase their market share in the search engine segment. Google is a dominating player here.
