Google offering unlocked G1 mobile to developers

You would have to have a good reason and developing software for it sounds like a good one to the search engine giant.
Google is now offering unlocked editions of G1 to interested developers. They can register on the Android Market website as a developer.
They would need to pay out a one time registration fee of USD 25 in addition to USD 399 for the G1.
Google stated that this edition is just for developers and not for general public.
