ISRO aiming for a manned mission in 6-7 years
Indian Space Agency ISRO has said in a statement that they are planning on launching a manned mission to space in the next 6-7 years.
ISRO has just successfully completed their Chandrayaan-1 unmanned mission to moon.
They have submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister asking for the funds for this planned mission.
ISRO representative AS Kiran Kumar said in a statement: “A Rs 10,000 crore-project in this regard has already been forwarded to the PMO and is awaiting approval. A satellite recovery programme for the whole project has been successfully completed.”
ISRO for the time being is working on launching Oceansat 2 sometime next year.
Insat 3D is also set to be launched in 2009.
Resourcesat –2 is another satellite which is being prepared for launch in the coming times.
