Apple iPhone: 30% market share in smartphones in USA
Apple now has a 30% stake in the smartphone market in USA. The stake worldwide is at around 16.6%.
The company has just one model with two variants on sale in the markets around the world and still they have managed to accomplish this amazing feet.
Apple entered the mobile phone market last year with the launch of the first generation iPhone.
They updated it with a 3G edition earlier this year. The launch was accompanied by the Apple App Store which enables the user to buy and download third party applications to further expand the usability of the mobile device.
It remains to be seen if Apple can dominate the mobile phone market in US as comfortably as they are doing it in the MP3 player market with their iPod range.
