Mouse would be 40 year old tomorrow
It’s hard to use computers without a mouse today. The device would be 40 years old tomorrow.
The first mouse like device was designed by scientist Douglas Engelbart of the Stanford Research Institute.
He had demonstrated this device on December 9, 1968.
This device was designed as a “X-Y position indicator for a display system”. It came to be known as the mouse because it looked like one.
Xerox later introduced it to the world in 1981 though it became popular when Apple launched it with their computer in 1984.
Microsoft added the functionality to their products a year later with the introduction of Windows operating system.
