14 new members join Open Handset Alliance
Open Handset Alliance is now bigger than ever.
The group has seen a major expansion with the addition of 14 new member companies.
These include: AKM Semiconductor Inc., ARM, ASUS, Atheros Communications, Borqs, Ericsson, Garmin, Huawei Technologies, Omron Software, Softbank Mobile Corporation, Sony Ericsson, Teleca AB, Toshiba and Vodafone.
Google G1 is the first product which is based on this alliance.
Sony Ericsson is an important edition as they are working hard on enhancing their mobile range to become a major player in this market.
