SK Telecom has announced that they are collaborating with Research in Motion to launch their Blackberry Bold 9000 smartphone in the South Korean market.

They can now launch this phone in the domestic market after a rule was changed by the regulatory bodies requiring the phones to come loaded with special software adapted to South Korea’s wireless internet platform.

Korean Communications Commission has announced that they would remove this requirement soon enabling mobile phone makers around the world to launch their models in South Korea.

SK Telecom spokeswoman Lauren Kim spoke about launching the Blackberry on their network: “We’re looking at a fairly good amount of customers even at the beginning of the launch.”
