Google starts highlighting HD videos on YouTube

Google owned video sharing service YouTube is becoming better and better.

It is most popular for poor quality home videos but Google continues to work on improving the quality standards to meet the demand of its massive user base.

Google recently enabled HD option for some videos which were uploaded on the service in high quality media.

They have now made it easier for users to find these videos by making available a dedicated section highlighting the HD capable files.

The HD videos get a broader viewing mode which makes them much more interesting to view.

Google has also added some more sections dedicated to different kinds of videos. These are:

youtube.com/news for News
youtube.com/music for Music
youtube.com/movies for Movies

YouTube said in a blog post about these new sections: “The news page will be populated with breaking stories from around the world as well as news drawn from the Google News service; music will feature rising videos alongside playlists dedicated to different genres; movies will showcase some of the most popular short and full-length movies on YouTube today. We’ll keep a close eye on how these pages perform with a view to rolling them out in other categories.”

These new features further enhances the value of YouTube as a video sharing service for the web users around the world.
