Samsung aims to launch Android powered mobile in US soon

Market sources are claiming that South Korean tech giant Samsung is working on plans to launch a Google Android powered mobile phone in the second quarter of 2009.

HTC is manufacturing the first and only Android phone at the moment. The Google G1 is on sale in the US market.

The market reports say that the Samsung’s first Android phone would be sold in the US market through Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile USA.

T-Mobile is already offering the Google G1 in USA.

Samsung’s Android based phone is likely to be a full touch-screen phone. The company is a member of the Open Handset Alliance and its a surprise that they have yet not announced any confirmed plans for an Android phone.
