Warner Music Group starts removing content from YouTube

Warner Music Group talks with YouTube about renewing their content licensing agreement have broken down.

This has resulted in Warner Music Group removing their media content currently hosted on the Google owned video sharing service.

Universal Music Group, Sony Music, and EMI too are currently in renewed talks with YouTube over similar agreements.

Warner said in a statement on the new developments: “We are working actively to find a resolution with YouTube that would enable the return of our artists’ content to the site. Until then, we simply cannot accept terms that fail to appropriately and fairly compensate recording artists, songwriters, labels and publishers for the value they provide.”

Universal Music is one of these companies which has publicly admitted that YouTube has generated impressive revenues for them.
