Intel denies forcing its chipset along with Atom processor

Market sources were stating that Intel has been forcing hardware manufacturer to get their Intel Atom processors along with its own core-logic sets.

Intel has now refuted these claims stating that manufacturers are free to buy ATOM processor individually or with a chipset.

Nvidia recently launched their feature rich GeForce 9400M chipset designed to work with Intel Atom processors on these low cost computing devices.

This has probably threatened Intel as customers would have preferred using Nvidia chipset instead of their own.

Intel added that rival companies including Nvidia does not need to obtain a separate license to make and sell chipsets compatible with Intel Atom processors.

Nvidia’s solution could bring more features to these low cost netbooks which are currently powered by Intel only solutions.

Intel however has reasons for fear as Nvidia has already replaced their chipset solutions in Apple MacBooks.
