Apple working on a MacBook Pro with Quad Core processor?

Intel has just launched a low-cost quad-core processor into its mobile line-up.

This could be the processor that could soon be available on an Apple laptop.

The Mac maker could soon introduce a new 17” MacBook Pro model that comes loaded with this new processor.

The company had recently updated the entire laptop range with new chipsets from Nvidia and aluminum body.

Intel Core 2 Extreme Q9000 processor partners four 2GHz cores with 6MB of Level 2 cache. It is being offered at USD 348 in the US market.

This is an incredible value for the hardware it offers and this processor could enable Apple to launch a quad core notebook in the market for a price tag below USD 3000.

Acer has already announced their plans to use the new Intel processor in an upcoming gaming laptop that would feature a 18.4-inch screen and Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT graphic card.
