VentureBeat runs Android on Asus EEE PC

It’s pretty clear that Google has bigger plans for their Android mobile platform.

They are currently using it to power mobile devices. Google G1 is the first mobile handset on sale in US market powered by Android OS.

Online media magazine VentureBeat has managed to install the open source edition of Android on the Asus EEE PC.

They compiled the OS for this new platform and managed to get it in working conditions.

It seems to be running well though there are some compatibility problems. These are bound to occur due to the different hardware being used on the Asus machine.

But it does show that Google could some day use the Android on more varied devices.
