Roku Netflix Player to get Amazon VOD capabilities
Roku and Amazon are collaborating to bring the Amazon video on demand service on the Roku Netflix Player.
This capability would be made available in the coming months and would further enhance the value of the Roku Netflix Player.
Roku said that this would be the first third party service to be made available on this device which is designed for Netflix.
They had recently issued a new firmware for this device which included the promise of “a number of great new channels that will begin to appear on your player in early 2009.”
This means that Amazon is just one of the first third party service to appear on this device.
TiVo DVRs and the Sony Bravia Internet Link are already streaming media from Amazon VoD service.
