AMD Athlon Neo Processor being used by new HP notebook
AMD has announced the launch of their new range of processors aimed at low cost notebooks.
This new range is the AMD Athlon Neo processor.
HP has announced that they are using this new processor in a new laptop model HP Pavilion dv2.
AMD is targeting this new processor at machines positioned between netbooks and full featured laptops.
These machines are generally called ultra portables. Some examples are: Apple’s MacBook Air, the Toshiba Portege, and the Sony Vaio TT series.
AMD’s new processor would enable manufacturers to offer low cost ultra portable notebooks computers.
Hewlett Packard Pavilion dv2 will start at $699 and top out at $899 for standard configurations.
