Palm showcases Palm Web OS and Pre smartphone
Smartphone maker Palm has finally showcased their new mobile platform that would power their next generation of mobile devices.
This new mobile OS has been named Palm webOS and the company also displayed a new model named Palm Pre which would come loaded with it.
Palm Pre is a touch-screen device enabled with GPS, Wi-Fi and it features a slide out full keyboard.
The company would start selling this new phone in the market in the coming months.
Palm said that Palm Pre would be offered exclusively through Sprint Nextel in the US market.
This is perhaps the last chance Palm has got to take on the emerging competition from Apple and RIM in the smartphone market. Google Android too is expected to become a bigger player in this segment of the market.
