TechCrunch: 20 bidders including Flickr and Smugmug for JPG Magazine
The people behind the popular JPG Magazine web service recently announced that they no longer could continue running the service.
TechCrunch is now reporting that as many as 20 players are trying to bid for the company.
The bidders as per the report includes some high profile names like Flickr and Smugmug.
Matt Mullenweg of WordPress has denied that they are trying to acquire JPG Magazine.
Don MacAskill had this to say about Smugmug’s interest: “JPG Magazine may be saved! The other bidders have much deeper pockets, so we’re unlikely to bid after all, but if something happens. We were going to turn JPG Magazine back over the community, try to run it at a small loss, and mostly do our best to keep it from extinction.
