AT&T iPhone Tethering Could Cost Just USD 10
Rumors in the market claim that AT&T could surprise the market analysts by making available a tethering plan for the iPhone for just USD 10 a month.
It’s a known fact that both Apple and AT&T are working on enabling tethering on the iPhone for the 3G network.
This would enable the owners of iPhone to use the mobile device as a modem for connecting to internet from their laptops.
AT&T has to take care about this plan so as not to put too much pressure on their 3G network.
It’s easier to consume more bandwidth and resources using a computer than a mobile phone on an internet network.
Most sources say saying that such a plan could cost as much as USD 30 a month in addition to the data plan.

At $10 a month I just might bite. At $30 a month, absolutely no way.
With the power of the iPhone 3G, which is with me practically all the time, it is rarely that I need a laptop to access the Internet when I am mobile. On top of that, I am so often near a system that already has Internet access that a per-month cost is practically a waste of money for me.
Add to that that fact that I have a jailbroken phone and PDANet, I really have no need to pay a monthly fee for tethering.
Hey, did I just talk myself out of paying a monthly fee for tethering? Maybe.

I would prefer a $10 option with a meter on the att.com website that showed me how much of my 5GB I’ve consumed.
I have a home network for heavy lifting, but would be extremely happy to have the flexibility to do light surfing and emailing while mobile.
This is the number 1 reason why people are jailbreaking their phones and the chief competitive advantage of everything from Blackberries to cheap bluetooth phones over the iPhone. My lady is probably going to buy a Blackberry because her phone is dying and she needs a mobile that can help her submit homework when our home internet is down.
