Microsoft invests in N-trig
N-trig is a Israel based company which specializes in manufacturing dual-mode pen and touch input device for computers.
Microsoft is one of the companies which have just invested in this little firm.
N-trig said that they would use these new funds to create multi-touch notebooks and convertible computers for the mainstream marketplace in collaboration with personal computer makers around the world.
Ian LeGrow, group program manager for Windows Client at Microsoft spoke about this investment: “With the introduction of multi-touch in Windows 7, integrated with N-trig’s DuoSense technology, our customers will have a new and natural way to interact with their PCs. By simulating the way people write and touch naturally, N-trig is helping to make it easier to navigate your PC.”
Dell Latitude XT and HP TouchSmart tx2 are two existing products available in the market currently using N-trig’s touch technology.
A lot of Apple products are now incorporating multi-touch technologies. Microsoft wants to achieve the same with Windows 7.
