Toyota plans to sell batteries to rival automakers for profitability
Japanese automaker Toyota has revealed that they are open to the possibility of selling their batteries to rival automakers to get the best returns for their investments.
The company has just displayed their latest edition Prius hybrid model at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
GM, Ford and Nissan are some of the automakers who are working on bringing hybrids to the US market.
Toyota owns a majority stake in Panasonic EV Energy which would open a plant this year to mass produce lithium-ion car batteries.
The company has also announced plans to bring a fully electric car to the market in the coming years.
