Tesla Motors to supply batteries for Electric Smart car
Tesla Motors has announced that they are collaborating with Daimler.
Tesla would now become the supplier of batteries and chargers for the Daimler’s upcoming electric Smart car.
Smart is planning to launch the electric edition of their model next year.
Elon Musk, chairman and chief executive of Tesla Motors said that the initial order would be to supply material for 1000 vehicles.
Tesla is currently providing Daimler with prototypes of their batteries and chargers for this deal.
Tesla Motors is one of the few companies which are selling electric sports car in the market. They are currently working on launching their new model Roadster sport car in June.
