Google dominated search in 2008
It’s no hidden fact that Google is the search engine industry leader.
Google Search continues to dominate the market.
Hitwise has released some statistics which show that the company served 69.5 percent of Internet searches in the US last year.
This is an improvement of 8 percent over 2007.
Yahoo and Microsoft were the biggest losers.
Yahoo had a search engine market share of 19.2 percent in 2008. This is a drop of 11 percent compared to 2007.
Microsoft suffered a drop of 32 percent with just 5.9 percent market share last year.
