Boost Mobile launches a $50-a-month nationwide unlimited calling plan
Sprint Nextel’s prepaid mobile unit Boost Mobile has announced a new plan.
This new plan offers nationwide unlimited calling for just USD 50 a month.
This new plan has resulted in market fears about a new price war in the market.
It also hit the rival company’s stock prices at the exchange.
Boost said that this plan is aimed at customers who are consumers concerned about the cost of operating a mobile phone.
Market analyst Craig Moffett spoke about this new plan: “The price point is a new low in the wireless market, where even Sprint’s own flagship brand charges $99 for its ”Simply Everything” plan, and where comparable value-oriented plans from MetroPCS and Leap are in the $60 range. Unlike Metro and Leap, however, the new Boost plan doesn’t have regional restrictions, putting it more directly in more competition with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.”
