Yahoo freezes salaries to control expenses

US based internet media giant Yahoo has announced that they are now freezing employee pay as part of their plan to cut costs and stay competitive.

Yahoo! spokeswoman Kim Rubey had this to say on these new developments: “The executive team decided that providing annual salary increases would not be in the best interests of the company or shareholders.”

Yahoo just recently announced the appointment of Carol Bartz as their new CEO.

She replaced Yahoo! founder Jerry Yang who had stepped down from this position last year.

Yahoo has been struggling to compete against Google in the search engine and advertising markets.
