Sprint Nextel cutting 8000 jobs
US based telecom giant Sprint Nextel has announced that they are cutting 8000 jobs in their operations.
The company also announced some more cost cutting measures as they aim to stay competitive in these tough economic times.
Sprint has been struggling in the US market. They are losing customers at an alarming rate.
Sprint said that these latest measures would save them $1.2 billion annually.
Sources say that the company lost more than 1 million subscribers in the third quarter.
AT&T has the iPhone, T-Mobile USA has the Google G1… Sprint has failed to keep their subscribers with a potential rival to these new generation smartphones.
