Verizon Wireless Extender launched in USA
US based telecom giant Verizon Wireless has announced their own femtocell base station offering provided by South Korean tech giant Samsung.
They have named this new product Verizon Wireless Extender.
Verizon Wireless Extender is similar to Sprint Airave which is also supplied by Samsung through Sprint Nextel.
Verizon said that this new product would act as a miniature cell phone tower which would boost the mobile signals indoors.
It requires external power supplies in addition to a broadband internet connection. Users would switch between the indoor and outdoor network without any call disconnection.
