Blackberry Storm is more expensive to manufacture compared to iPhone 3G
Market research company iSuppli has revealed in a report that Blackberry Storm is more expensive to manufacture when compared to Apple iPhone 3G.
Blackberry Storm is the first touchscreen smartphone model from Research in Motion and it has been designed to take on the Apple’s iPhone.
The report said that Blackberry Storm costs about $203 to make, compared with the $173 it costs Apple to make an iPhone 3G.
One of the most expensive component on the Storm is a $35 chip that makes it more supportive of mobile standards around the world.
The chips enables both CDMA and GSM network compatibility on the Storm. Apple iPhone 3G only works on GSM networks.
