Tesla Motors postpones move out to San Jose
Tesla Motors has announced that they are postponing their plans to move to San Jose.
The company had planned to move their headquarters and powertrain plant to a 90-acre site in San Jose.
They had also planned to establish a new manufacturing facility for their new Model S sedan.
A company representative said: “It’s not exactly clear when, if ever, the headquarters will leave San Carlos.”
Tesla failed to raise the $100 million in venture capitalist funding required for the move. They are now applying to get funds from the US government.
These funds are only provided to companies to expand in their existing facilities.
