Western Digital launches Mac compatible Portable hard drives

Western Digital has expanded their range of Apple Mac compatible portable hard drives.

These hard drives are now on sale in the Indian market.

The company has launched My Passport (320GB, 500GB) and My Book (1TB) for Macs.

These are priced at Rs. 6500, Rs. 9000, and Rs. 16000, respectively for the three models.

The company said that these drives would work with the Apple Mac OS X Time Machine feature.

These drives support USB 2.0 standard for fast data transfer.

The 320GB and 500GB drives come with three year long warranty. The 1TB edition has a 1 year long warranty.

It’s disappointing however that FireWire support is not available on all these new products. Apple has also dropped the FireWire port from the latest generation MacBook.
