Google went down because of one simple typo!

The search engine giant Google had a major problem earlier today when the entire web was marked as harmful by the company.

Search for anything and the search engine showed that all the websites on the result page were harmful.

Google has now responded on this problem which was fixed pretty quickly.

Marissa Mayer, the vice-president of Google stated that the problem occurred because a Google employee accidentally typed “/” for the whole URL of a bad website in the database of harmful sites.

This meant that the search engine labeled any site that had / in it as a harmful one.

The result were disastrous as the search engine became useless for the entire user base!

Mayer added: “Fortunately, our on-call site reliability team found the problem quickly and reverted the file.”

It shows that simple human errors can cause major disruptions for a major search internet company Google.

This is not the first time that a human error caused embarrassment for the company. The company has suffered several such problems in the past. Including once when they lost control to one of their own blogs.
