Nortel Networks to exit Wimax business
Nortel Networks has announced that they are exiting from the Wimax market as they are restructuring their operations under bankruptcy protection.
The company is also going to end their deal with Alvarion through which they were due to sell Alvarion’s Wimax access products.
They are however going to work with Alvarion to make sure it can continue to support existing Wimax customers.
Richard Lowe, president of Nortel’s carrier networks business spoke about the new developments: “We are taking rapid action to narrow our strategic focus to areas where we can drive maximum return on investment.”
