Comcast testing free wi-fi services in New Jersey

US based cable industry giant Comcast has reportedly started testing of their Wi-Fi services in New Jersey.

They have installed the hardware in around 100 New Jersey Transit commuter rail stations and parking lots.

The company is offering wireless internet surfing speeds of up to 1.5 mbps.

This service would be provided to the customers of Comcast cable subscribers. They would be required to enter their same user names and passwords to use the Wi-Fi service.

With this test service, Comcast is aiming to take on rival Cablevision which is also providing similar services to their customers.
