Time Warner Cable to expand trial of bandwidth limit
US based internet service provider Time Warner Cable has announced that they are now going to expand the number of cities where they are going to put a limit on downloads by their customers.
These customers would be asked to pay more if they transfer more than a certain amount of data on a monthly basis.
Time Warner Cable spokesman Alex Dudley said that their tests were successful and their systems are now capable of metering and billing accurately.
They are now planning to expand this program to four more cities before they can implement it nationwide.
Market analysts have criticized this move claiming it would prevent people from using the internet freely and online video services would not be able to compete effectively against cable TV.
