Nokia could be next with a mobile app store
Market sources say that mobile phone industry giant Nokia planning to launch its own mobile app store at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.
Apple started the trend with the App Store which offers mobile applications for iPhone and iPod Touch.
Google Android also has its own mobile application store.
Nokia is the largest mobile phone maker in the world so it makes a lot of sense for them to launch their own store.
This store could be the central hub for users of Symbian powered mobile devices.
Nokia owns Symbian Limited and they are working with other players in the market on an open source edition of Symbian.
To keep the interest on in this mobile platform, the company needs something like the Apple App Store.
