Amazon Kindle designed to be a reading device

Amazon has already launched their second generation Kindle ebook reader.

The device can access blogging content and news papers but it is not designed to be an internet device.

Instead, the company has focused to create the best reading device out there.

Amazon chief executive Jeff Bezos spoke about the Kindle: “We are really focused on making the best purpose-built reading device…for books, magazines and newspapers, blogs.”

The second generation Kindle has been priced at $359 which the analysts believe is a bit pricey for what it offers especially during these tough economic times.

Amazon however believe that the device would be a major success. The company does not reveal the sales figures of the Kindle but it was out of stock since the last couple of months.

Even with the new version, Amazon is not offering a promised delivery date. Kindle 2 would be delivered to customers on a first come first serve basis.
