Hewlett-Packard, MySpace, Qualcomm new members of Symbian Foundation

Symbian Foundation has announced 14 new members joining their entity.

These include high profile names like Hewlett Packard, MySpace and even Qualcomm.

With this, the number of members of the Symbian Foundation has now reached 78.

Nokia announced this foundation to help create an open source version of their mobile platform.

This would compete with the new emerging players in the market like Apple iPhone, Google Android and Palm webOS.

The foundation is expected to come out with their first offering sometime next year.
