Apple claims jailbreaking iPhone is copyright violation
Apple has claimed in a statement to U.S. Copyright Office that owners of iPhone who jailbreak it are violating their copyright.
This has been reported by the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
The EFF has been trying to get Copyright Office to grant a DMCA exemption to iPhone owners to jailbreak their devices.
They are claiming that jailbreaking your iPhone is protected under fair-use doctrines and it should be given the exemption because it is part of the innovations we need today.
Apple claims that since users are using third party softwares to jailbreak their devices, it is not really innovation on their part.
